Kascidy Badon
Cutting Specialist
Playful. High-spirited. Relentlessly curious.
As a third-generation hairdresser, I do have to say this career pursued me and not the other way around. I had moved to Austin on a whim five years ago from Louisiana with nothing to my name except for a desire for a fresh start. I began attending The Academy of Hair Design in 2019 shortly before the pandemic got serious and graduated in 2021. Beginning my journey at Path Salon as an apprentice, I began growing at an exponential rate and decided to gear my specialty towards haircutting. Something I knew I’ve wanted to do more of since hairschool.
There is something about cutting. The instant gratification of watching a haircut come to life second by second as I work. It’s art. It’s sculpting. It’s also fundamentally mathematical. My favorite subjects. Trigonometry and geometry. Section, elevation, angle, degree, line, perimeter, shape, form, direction of movement. Words that speak my language. I currently specialize in shags, mullets, and bobs. There is no such thing as a “boring” haircut to me. I can find fun in a simple trim. There is attention to detail and big communication to be had even in the most seemingly simple services.
Outside of the salon, you can find me running with my club, swimming in the creek, relaxing with my two parrots, binge watching a good show, eating too much poke, and trying my best to be of service. I am very excited for my journey here at Strange Bird East and hope to see you in my chair soon!
